Signing Up
Swimmers may sign up for the team any time of the year. Tryouts are held at 5:45 Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Please email the coaches at coaches@penguinswim.org to let them know you're coming.Check today and tomorrow's schedule on the front page, the calendar, or call the "dive line" at 265-DIVE for information.
When a swimmer joins the Penguin Swim Team, there are three fees which must be paid:
- USA Swimming registration
- PST yearly team registration
- Monthly workout dues
Registration Documents
Please open and print a copy of the PST Registration Packet (print the illustrated PST Registration Packet if you don't have dial-up as it'll show you pictures of the on-line registration process, or if you're really patient - it's 851KB and could take up to 10 minutes on a slow line).Read and fill out all pages except for the "Suspension of Dues Request" (the last page). If, at a later point, your swimmer needs to stop swimming for a while, make sure you either send PST an email or return the "Suspension of Dues Request" form so that you won't accrue any dues during the absence.
The remainder of this web page repeats some of information found in the registration packet. If differences exist, please consider the registration packet to be correct and please contact us so that we can correct the web page.
Monthly Dues
Follows are the monthly dues for the groups:
Blue penguins (beginning and advanced) $65 Rockhopper penguins $75 Royal penguins $80 King penguins $90 Pre-seniors $120 Seniors $130 Family monthly maximum $185
For families with more than one swimmer, there is a $10 discount for the second swimmer. The monthly family maximum is $185.
Make checks out to "Penguin Swim Team", and provide the names and groups of swimmers in the memo field. Dues should be depoisted in the DUES FOLDER in the pool office.
Please remember that dues should be paid before the month starts! If you plan to be out of the water for any month, please fill out the "Suspension of Dues" form available in the file box before that month.
The Penguin Swim Team is like a health club. When you join a health club, you typically have a joining fee, plus monthly charges - you're charged because you can go to the club, regardless of whether or not you do, and only if you know ahead of time that you're going to miss a whole month are you able to avoid paying for that month. The swim team is similar, so please remember your responsibility.
Dues are only prorated for first time members, in the first month.
Late fees: Any dues received after the first day of the month will be considered late and are subject to a $5 late fee; swimmers may not swim until their account is paid in full.
Yearly PST Registration: $75
PST requires that a yearly registration be paid before any swimmer may enter the pool. Contact us with questions; the forms are available here.Registrations effective late in the year are at a reduced amount.
Yearly USA Swimming Registration: $70.50
PST requires that a yearly registration be paid before any swimmer may enter the pool. This provides mandatory liability insurance. It must be renewed at the beginning of each year. A USA Swimming card and registration number will be assigned to each swimmer - KEEP THIS CARD! The number will be needed to enter swim meets. (Note: Swimmers who register after September 1 will be registered through the end of the following year.)On-line USA Swimming registration is available through Swim Connection and currently costs $70.50. This fee is non-refundable.
